The State and Local Economic Development Policy graduate student conference is organized by doctoral students in the Public Affairs-Community Development Ph.D. program at Rutgers University–Camden. The goal of the conference is to connect research on local and state economic development strategies to research, policy, legislative, and community leaders who can incorporate it into their work. In an effort to fulfill this goal, the conference committee will:
- Create and disseminate a conference proceedings publication featuring student research papers.
- Provide presenters and panelists the opportunity to join the Scholars Strategy Network and to write evidence-based policy briefs that inform policymakers.
- Encourage presenters and panelists to join the Public Policy Op-Ed Initiative that will work with local media outlets to produce research-based op-eds.
